Barry, the reason why the lions always chase me on the last section to your house is because I have been feeding them with biltong (beef jerkey) lately and now they associate food with the van. Only the last part is true.
There was a case where on the company game farm they used to drop dead buck over the electric fence with a JCB when the feeding the lions. This was done temporary as they were fixing the new feeding hatch. A few weeks later the JCB was laying stormwater pipes deep in the reserve and was attacked(surrounded) by the same pride wanting food. Its all about association.
