Pics are good but i need VIDEO
While I do not post that often here and have only met one other member (Hi JJ!), I do post on a few other bulletin boards. Bulletin boards will always go through cycles of busy/not busy times and the question is not if drama will occur but rather when.
That said, I find the board a great help which I know I can always trust for some solid technical advice(once my garage is finished and the money train comes). And while the search function will be used a lot, I am sure many questions will be asked as well. I should also really start to work on a project page as that would at least justify some of the expense the wife went through to purchase our own domain. Luckily she can do all the hard work there as I will only have to provide copy and pictures!
While I do see some commercial posts on here, I have never had a problem with them. I think Michael maintains a good balance. However, I also think that we have to realise that some of the products that we will see here will be things manufactered by fellow nutcases that can not find specific parts. We have to realise that the major part manufacturers will not see our cars as a profitable market due to the low production numbers and to some extent the age. It is therefore reasonable to expect that some of us, that can, try to make better products available to the rest of us.
Lucky for me I do not have the same problem as Murray as the kitchen is my domain at home and I will wash my pistons in the sink if I want to!

I must say I enjoyed the old site better in terms of the amount and quality of the content. It was in another league when you compare it to the other alfa sites (eg www.alfaowner.com).
Although most of my forum time goes to www.alfa156.net I still enjoy this forum, and am always hoping for good content, but it's a little too few and far between. I find myself searching in the archives on the old site a lot. There are some legendary posts in there (my favourite being Barry's 3.2GTA to 116 install for Kevin).
But, if you look at other alfa sites, eg www.alfa156net (I was one of the first members there, and there were only 5 or 6 of us), it was nothing two years go - it was sometimes weeks between posts, and it was the same 5 or 6 people, in one thread: "Technical" - and trust me, it wasn't technical! (not by this site's standards)

Everyone has made some very valid points. There is no doubt that a lot of traffic moved to the BB during the transition, and that is not necessarily a bad thing, as it seems to me that this site has evolved into a much more technical forum. I check in daily, but also find myself using the archives for 99% of my questions. I'm glad Michael is seeing a steady increase in use! This site is still the best source of information relating to transaxle Alfas, especially in the areas of performance modifications. That said, I need to go to the other site to find out about cool sunglasses...
Barry and Z are right...someone should come over and steal the damn flowbench machine (it ain't mine!) Its taken over two months of my time so far but I believe I'm done (=fed up, too!)
I have to agree with some of the guys, there just isn't enough entertainment in this site. I guess some of us really had a good spell a few months ago. Some names come to mind, one even walks upside down, as the rest of us see it anyway! For various reasons, things simmered down - I don't want to get into it but its a subject that has been dealt with in some posts. Anyway, the funny stuff is never planned, it just happens and if everything clicks, things go from funny to hilarious! I'm glad we've been there several times, it was great!
Tech is always nice as long as things are kept reasonable (I personally have a problem with people trying to stuff an F-18 Hornet engine into their cars, as I believe you should be ABLE to DRIVE what you build and NOT just in a straight line - THIS requires basketball-size...cojones!But this is only the way I see things).
To this end I would like to see the proposed 'Ring trip happen (Micke, Mats,Maurizio you guys are buying Scnitzels-you think you got away with it?) Too bad its difficult or impossible for most of us to bring our own cars there!

The king of bullshit baffles brains is back. ( I knew you always were gonna come back.) Now JK, I know you is a smart guy but you is overlooking clinical facts.
You see when the brain is devoid of blood supply, you don't think so good, right? ( At this point just nod in agreement) So the way I see it is that all you lot on the north side walkin' upright 'cause the blood to rush to your feet whereas with us guys down here all the blood gravitates to our heads.

I mean to say, check out his latest little number he intends to wear at the next meet. He had it modelled for our cameras courtesy of Syro Pyleas... I mean the guy is not even planning to wear a helmit for goodness sake! It's outrageous !
