Yup,Im rather concerned and cannot trust that it wont happen again.
Earlier in the day I found the 6th gear in the box and was trundling along at 160km/h-100Mph on the freeway..Now that just gives me the sh*ts thinking about that!!
Im stripping everything, making sure all the lock plates and nuts are tight ,bent over..Ill also use locktite on the nuts and worry about removing them later..
The brakes have just been overhauled by a reputable air brake specialist company here..They worked on it last.I'm off to them in the morning for a pow wow..
Btw,that 100mph??It was spinning at 2200 rpm,full 3.5bar boost!!I love diesels!!

Holy sh*t Barry, doing 100mph and only spinning 2200rpm
Yes turbo diesels are amazing.
Your truck is great with the alfa wheel, i love it!
I need a truck like yours to help me ram all the idiots off the road we have driving here in Melb, so i would widen the fenders yes!!
hehe

Selling 1985 GTV6.
Ecu and injectors, lightened.....plays music.
Hell yea!A 9"er will handle it no problem!
Greg,This is running a Cummins B6T that sticks out 800 n/m at the moment..
Ive looked at "performance" stuff from the states and theres a Cummins package complete that will push out 1200n/m torgue. And if I go electronic it will go up to 1430n/m!!
I really don't need that but it would be nice. With all that comes reliability and cost of breakages. You will break something somewhere!(If the wheels don't fall off!!)
I followed the build of this truck from the previous owner. It was running 10: 43 diff`s which he then changed to 10:37 LS units..much more drivable but it smokes badly if you don't regulate the throttle now. This is because the engine labours to rev up before the turbo comes on boost. It still chirps the tyres on pull off though.all 320x85x15`s of them!!
Yea,I love my truck~it does have to go to the farm to work though.
Feds, surprisingly its very composed at 100mp/h! You must remeber though thats it weighs a shedload and you migh have to stop it in a hurry.Ive realy gone overboard with the brakes, fitting a dual air system working at 6 bar pressure. Its not the awnswer to doing those speeds though.Quiet reckless realy.I was simply testing the 6th gear..btw,it would have gone more as it was realy pulling like a train!!There was traffic though...

Hahaha!!No,the bench seat is rather soft,so when my fat ass hits it I sink down some 4 inches under the wheel!!x-rad wrote:Hey Barry, do you rest your balls on the lower part of the steering wheel when you drive???? Looks a little tight there!!![]()

hehe Lovely, it must be interesting to drive that thing, biggest thing I drove was a Ford Excursion in my time living in the U.S., found it inmensely huge and drove like gelly, liked the V8 though...hehe...too bad I wasn't into Alfa's yet at that time, would have bought a Milano and brought it over here when I moved back home....instead I bought a Mazda Mx-3 V6, nice little engine, but it ain't an Alfa V6....Barry wrote:Hell yea!A 9"er will handle it no problem!

Where did you take the air brakes from?
