12v ITB's
Hi guys,
Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of a rare Alfa oem V6 ITB set, which was std equipment on the injected 2liter Alfa 6. Of course the set bolts right on the V6 heads and it originally ran with a Marelli ecu the size of a typewriter!
The air horns and their alloy adaptors are my addition. In the third pic you can see a longer runner experiment I tried, using a sawed-off 12v runner. Nice and functional as it looks, it probably won't fit in the 75.

Hmmm, Drachmas... It'll be a cold day in Hell and you'll probably be too old to use them...

Re: 12v ITB's
hmm interesting, the horns with the injector holes were do they come from?
The 2.0[l] V6 throttle bodies are really rare... I have seen ones a alfa 90 with the same marelli magneti ecu'ed V6.

Re: 12v ITB's
Unfortunately I don't know where the horns originated, I bought them from someone years ago. The horns' alloy bases/adaptors I made in a machine shop specifically to fit them on the ITB's.

Re: 12v ITB's
horns can be obtained in hi-fi shops wich specialize in diy speakers, bass horns (just a thought) although they don't have the injector hole

Re: 12v ITB's
Jim- or anyone know where I can get my hands on a set of these?
Fixing it bit by bit....
Re: 12v ITB's
I know you like angry sounding cars Jules. Instead of going after the 2.0 V6 ITBs which are R A R E, I would go for motorcycle ITBs. Cheap and plentiful then have them customized for your V6.

Re: 12v ITB's
Z- this is the new Z, isn't it!? (Z's dead baby, Z's dead!) I had been planning to go down the GSXR route- these would save a lot of stuffing around.
They would also let me see the potential in my 2.5!
I would love it if I could find some of these!
Jim or anyone know of a set?

Re: 12v ITB's
I've looked at them too!
The gsx r ones are a bit more plentiful!
Been scrounging around for books and formulas to start coming up with solutions for throttle plate distance to inlet valve and inlet valve to trumpet face distance.
Hoping to size for good mid range punch.
Then wire up an ecu. And those will be the last mods to the NA 2.5 and time to start thinking outside the box for the next round

Re: 12v ITB's
I had seen the Triumph set and for some reason I like them better than the GSXR ones. Given some machine shop time, they would be a great fit on the V6. What's with the 2.5 liter? Go on and play with the 3liter or 3.2 if you're going to get serious!

Re: 12v ITB's
Actually I'd like an ITB setup too. Something modular so I can migrate it to the 3.2 when it's ready.
So I'm imagining a base plate made to suite either a 24V or 12V. Then comes the ITB. , than the trumpets.
If we all agree (hmmm.....probably won't happen) on a throttle to use, then we can easily come up with a linkage design.
