155 Coil-Packs On A Milano/75/GTV6 V6;
Has anybody here used these yet? I know that for those of us that run Glenwood creations, we have typically received our motors with either VW VR6 coil-packs or with Mitsubishi Pajero coil-packs as standard...
I had an opportunity to buy a couple of the rare 155 coil-packs brand new and brought them back for anybody who wants to try them with a GoTech or any other stand-alone engine management system...

...to Alfa, or not to Alfa? That is the question...

Are they the all-in-one type coil packs like the VR6 units or are they individual? I assume "all-in-one" type as Dawie said that the gotech couldnt use ICP's.

Yeah JJ, I am using the 155 coilpack with my haltech unit on the 116 GTV 3.2gta motor. (The one you drove in when you were out here). I think it works brilliantly or maybe it was just Barry's great mapping !! This motor has not missed a beat in three years.
These coil packs are like hens teeth in South Africa as my mates 155 V6 stood at the workshop for five weeks when Italy finally found one to send over. However Barry has a new one sitting in his cupboard for his for his long awaited Giuli conversion.(not sure whats going in there).
There should be a pick of it in our gallery of own cars.

It doesn't have to be rare for it to take a VERY long time from italy I'm afraid.
Everything takes forever to get here (Sweden) if it has to be ordered...

Point is Mats - this forum is not just about Sweden, nor "Anywhere, Europe" for that matter.
There is no part number even known here in the US for these, so I thought that they would be a nice addition for the guy seeking to improve on the 12 valve setup, but trying to keep his Alfa, all-Alfa...
I doubt that the Australians have them readily available from their friendly "local Alfa Romeo dealer" either... Even an order for a local in Europe may take time as I understand it.
I bought what was known as the last two new units for sale in SA. So yes, rare for everyone outside of Sweden then - please nit-pick elsewhere.
Bernard, yes, these are the 6-pack type like the VR6 units.
Thanks Kevin.
BTW Bernard, the GoTech CAN drive 6 individual coil-packs (just not the Pro units that you and I and Jes got...) Dawie and I run the new Pro-X with full sequential on the 156 GTA race car and during the All-Tar Rally 3 weeks ago it did not skip a beat with 6 ICPs - lights right up - runs smooth! Sweet product.
At a minimum one needs the GoTech Pro units like we have now to drive these 155 coil-packs, or the VR6 types.

Oh shut up will you, stop trying to get money out of people by saying everything is special and scarce.
Something you can ORDER at an ALFA DEALER is not rare, yes it may take a while to get it but it will arrive.

Two coil-packs are going to make me any significant amount of money!!!??? Common Mats - get real - give the "commercial interest" thing a rest already...
It's clearly a favour for a couple of folks here who might want it...
March in to Ferrari of Seattle or Alfa Tacoma and ask for this part - they'll give you a blank stare at best. I never said that the part was "special" - just that we never had this particular model here and consequently there are no part-numbers in the dealer archives for them to even be able to place an order for us.
You take the time then source the parts, fly over and carry it in... Shit, you think that I earn a living from this? Come-off it - I have better things to do.
Tell me to shut-up one more time and you may get stomped! Besides, have some class - I thought that you and I agreed a long time ago to ignore each-others threads...?

Used in the 164....???enzo wrote:Alfa Part-Nr is 60808059 for 103€ w/o WAT
The 12 valve runs a single coil and the 24 valve is a coil-on-plug - so not the same thing!
Nice to know that something is available - again, in Euro... Not here. Also US-based Alfa dealer tells you - sorry - can't order parts not listed in their system.

And why not??? A coil is a coil irrespective of wether its a consolidated pack or individuals...
The Gotec can and does operate individual coils,Gotec out to drivers and then to coils,or directly driven outs to coils....
