Buy Jim K's book "How to Power Tune Alfa Romeo Engines" It not only has pictures, but provides dimensions. I used this to make the removal tool fro my V6, and will do the same at installation. Remember to check the service manual for installed guide position. the intakes bottom on the tool, but the exhaust need to be set a little differently (I think).

A little 1/2 steel rod is the base of the tool. Some lathe work and an old valve stem. I ended up hardening the end with a torch, because the first time I used it the end flared a bit and threatened to mar the guide bore (bad for oil consumption).

Torch hardening is pretty simple - Heat until red, then quench in water.

Hope this helps,
Mark
