Well, here is how I did. Found a good spot between the consoll and the stearing column. Nice to see I have good oil preassure aswell. Has been a bit worried about that since the original sender unit hasn´t been working great.
Just some pics to show where I put it...

Seb, well done m8.
i enjoyed following your trails and tribulations, how does it go now with the exhaust system ?
much change from what you had ?
I am about to start a similar project,i've got a 12v 3L still sitting in a 164 (going to pull it out soon !)
would you suggest the motronic over the L-JET ?
mine will be a very limited budget swap,so i just want the easiest and cheapest options.
you will be getting plenty more questions from me soon.
cheers m8 and congrat's on getting yours done.

Go for the motronic !!
The conversion we did on my Dad's GTV 2.0 to 3.0 was really quite simple, even simpler if you have the 3.0 engine still sitting in the 164 and know you have all of the bits you need (we didn't but we managed anyway).
You'll absolutely love the grunt. What a transformation

Feels good to finally having her up and running. But it is still with a trrified sence of delight I drive her. Listening for wierd noices, waiting for something to happen. But I´ve been driving her for about 2 weeks now and it seems ok.
She runs smooth in the engine, definely go for the motronic if You have all the parts. The L-jet is stone age in comparison.
The new exhaust gives her a more manly sound. Sort of V8-ish, but in a good way.
I have some vibrations from the freckin´ trasvestite axle (I hope). Stupid ass design!! But I´m keeping an eye on it, hoping its steady, not increasing.
Good luck with your project!

I think it depends on what you are doing. I had a 2.5 V6 75 and transplanted a 164S engine into it. Everything from the 75 bolts over, no spacers or anything needed. What I heard is that later style Milano 2.5 engines have same measurements as the 164 V6. In my case, starter, bell housing, flywheel, everything bolted right over. Even the rear holes on the 75 sump lined up perfectly with the 164 block. Also, the rear engine mount in the bell housing lines up with the chassis mount. I have heard that this 75 V6 can be identified by a diamond plate block-off at the end (towards the firewall) of the left head (where the 164 distributor sits).
