Simple question, I need to know the standard 75 V6 flywheel weight, it's for the Giulietta V6 project that is nearing completion finally!

excellent info! thanks! any thoughts about a slightly lightened flywheel? is it worth it on a street/track car? by how much do you guys recomend?

Its worth 4 sure.

As much as you can from the rear one and then the sum front + rear 12 kg.

to much!!!mine was lightened to 4.7kg in front and the rear one was also done,threw the front away!! man, is this worthless!the momentum of the engine is gone.if you lighten the front about 3 kg you will notice it ,but not enough and it will cost you to much for the result.
plus the balancing.....
i will never do it again

If I had it off, I wouldn't leave it std even for pure street.
17.5 kg of flywheel really slows these cars down.

As the front one already is stated to weigh ~10 kg this assumption would make sense - right!

Micke,I have my own personal 3.8l 24v engine here..
Full everything including a custom made full aluminium flywheel..
This thing revs like crazy and is powerfull ..
Its the crappest engine for daily street use.
Yes,it spins up in a nano second,but the revs fall in a nano second as well..
When driving this thing in traffic I fell AND look like a 16year old with a learners drivers licence..!!

Maybe its my age,but not for me thanks..

Cool, great tips and thoughts here, the car is not my daily driver, I have a 33 16v for that, it's going to see mixed track/street use, so it would be nice to have something that revs a bit quicker but isn't undriveable as Barry said, i'm leaning towards leaving it standard though...maybe lightening the rear flywheel a bit, one other thing, i'll be using the standard 1.6 gearbox here for now, as my budget is going towards getting the V6 in, I know the gearbox is the weakest link here but it's going to see mostly track time and not drag racing

maybe the V6 doesn't have ANY bettom end torque or then someone missed a point. I've done this on all my 4-bangers without problems.

What I tried (and actually did) say is that you can lighten the stuff for street but there's no need to overdo it (alu flywheel is a very good example of massive overdoing)

If Std is 17 kg and 12 is nice for the street (I.e. 5 rear 7 front) it doesn't mean that I'd prefer driving on the street with my racer either. It has 4.7 kg front and 1.7 rear.
