Zwartkops Trackday.

Post by Fernando »

Last Sunday I attended a Trax Day at Zwartkops, this after doing a left front brake caliper change and bleeding the brakes the day before.Using Castrol DOT 4 but I struggled to get decent pedal feel back.Anyway I had promised my neighbour to show him what it's all about so off we went.

The two video clips can be found on You Tube under my user name ForzaGTV6.

With a long brake pedal attacking the braking zones wasn't an option for me which proved very frustrating while chasing the BMW M3.The video footage was taken by my neighbour so excuse the quality as it wasn't easy for him to hold the recorder and brace himself at times.

The Scooby that passes us up to the table top had twice tried to get a run at me coming out of the hairpin.Twice I made sure to give him room but he couldn't even pull next to me under power. :D Only under braking could he close the door and then I got bogged down coming off the back straight and gave him enough room to pass both the M3 and myself. Then I looked up to see this Ford Focus rally car so I had to let him past too... Bugger,Mr B I need those brakes of yours...

Not to sure what it was that started smoking from the back of the M3 but I eased off a bit incase it was oil.So much for BMW reliability...

Weird thing is now my brake pedal feels fine nearly a week later.Ah well there is always next time.Oh yes getting to watch Ferrari finishing one and two in the French GP just made the day for me. :D
