GTV V6 Cup Vs. EVO 7 RS

Post by Zamani »

EVO has more power, but not by much. Surprisingly the EVO has not such a good handler. GTV Cup all over the EVO in the turns.

must have been something wrong with that EVO surely, they have just about every electronic wizard under the sun for handling yet it handled like a soggy sponge!!

And everything I see on the web is true

A GT3 cup car which needs more than one lap to pass the Alfa, honda etc...  Truly funny.

Honda? Where?

Besides these aren't racers going 10/10th and this was the short course too. But it is not like they were on a Sunday cruise either.

On the straight away you can see the pulling power of the GT3.

I agree with Micke. Truly funny stuff...

I'm suprised that show room stock Evo outruns that race spec GTV. What kind of tires did they use on the cars?

Is it only me that finds it strange how that Lotus suddenly stands almost still on the finish line and the Porsche overtakes it going something like 100Km/h faster?

I'm told (on several different forums) that these are excellent drivers and old racers and such but what the hell are they doing with the pedals?
Looking at the pedals only I'd say two or three of them can actually drive and the others are just good actors. :P

Isn't that GTV a GTV Cup? I think it's basically a stripped down GTV, no mods to the engine. So still a 230 bhp car against a 280 bhp evo RS.

Didn't you notice that the drivers themselves were giggling while driving? Most of the time best motoring track outings are never a real all out race.

Stripped down and I bet it has a modified chassis with springs/shocks and bushings. Probably slicks? Rollcage for added stiffness. Pretty much an all out race car, with a stock engine. :)
Sounds like my GTV (stripped, chassis mods, stock engine), and I drive that faster on the cool down lap of the local track then I could drive a Mazda MPS (AWD, 280hp) or a Saab 9-3 XWD (AWD, 280hp, E-LSD). 8)

But yeah, they don't really race. Why does the manufacturers lend them the cars when it's pretty much a show and no go?

I'm sure they are pushing the cars though not to the limit and especially not in the turns. This is after all a TV show. If cars came back scratched and dented, there wouldn't be a show anymore.

Guys I´ve been watching Best motoring videos for a long time and is all bullshit. They manage to make a Ferrari F40 lose a 1/4 mile drag to a 280hp NSX. Also a Ferrari 512 tr lose to that same NSX in a top speed shootout on an oval track. It ´s all fixed. TV show lie more than you can imagine on road tests. And their drivers suck. The only thing they know about driving is drifting. If you all want to see real fast driving at Susuka check Senna driving the NSX.

what a wonderful driver and gentleman he was too!, and he is still very sadly missed indeed. I dont know about everyone else here, but I find Ayrton pops into my thaughts very regularly, and is still hard to accept that hes gone. what a lasting impression he left. Its hard to believe its almost 14 years now since he parted company.

what a great talent!

Talk about fighting the car... Goes between terminal understeer and snap oversteer the whole way around.
I have seen a different version of it when he drives a white RHD version (I think) when you also gets to see some foot work and his famous acceleration pedal work.

F40 lose to NSX in a drag race, sounds plausible.
