My little Giulietta...mmmm,sorely missed~Barry

Post by Barry »

I bought her from a retired pensioner client of mine when his wife croaked.
She had 43000 loving km`s on the odo and having serviced and looked after her from new for old Mr Lane,I knew I was getting the best example available.

I whipped off the carbs and stuck 20l Motronic onto her..The best thing I could have done to this very sweet 1800 engine..
Went on holiday and got 1054 km,s on a 60l tank of fuel/gas.!!!!!

She was superb..I wrote her off 7 years ago in a pile up in the mist on the local freeway..also destroyed vertebrae but thats another story..

I found these and got my trusty old Hp scanner going on Vista..

The good thing is that we are using most of her doors and brightwork on my new Giulietta!

I am glad you are OK. That's quite an accident. The car is a serious loss, but it's nice that it's sort of living on as a donor for other cars.

Greg,You`d appreciate this..
The engine dropped down and went under the car,the prop crumpled and the gear box moved down.
Exactly as it should have in this circumstance..The roof kinked and all the crumple zones worked brilliantly..

it's amazing how everything worked as it should, still, it's very sad to see such a mint condition Giulie as a totaled car, I could very well use many of those parts you have from her...hehe, ...in my opinion, after the GTV6, and on a very close second, it's one of the most desirable cars from Alfa in the 1980's, specially the turbodelta one.... :D

Barry you should share that story of yours with the others,as it's flipping hair raising. I remember when Barry told me you kind of think back to when you yourself were in a similar situation and how quickly it can turn into a disaster.I for thank Alfa for building such a safe motor car Mr B......otherwise I wouldn't have my lovely engine today...

Seriously though I cannot wait to see your baby up and running with the new paint job.
