there are NO reinforcements .
the chassis has its stiffness from the glued bodypanels.
it is a normal 75 or milano chassis that has been shortened.
the suspension is different and the rear axle is an upgrade from the 75.
and off course the camber rear and front has been changed.
barry, allan's car is out of shockabsorber oil?
fill it up in the trunk!the height should be 5 inch in the lowered position and about 7 in the heigh position.
you are not allowed to pass the 80km/h in the high position.
it is all in the instruction book!!
please email me with updates on the engine
ps pic of the rz , maybe for sale

MJR in a perfect world I would have an SZ with Barry's engine and my GTV6 with a turbo engine from Mr B...
I went and dug out an old copy of Auto Italia magazine when they featured three SZ's,one standard,on with an AH 3.5 and individual throttle bodies and the Autodelta supercharged 3 litre.
Their pick for sound was the 3.5 but for ease of performance the charged one won them over.
I always viewed the SZ as an automotive one fingered salute to other motor vehicles.
This car just says f#$ you and I don't give a s%^t much the same way a BMW MCoupe does. ![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

Alfettish, I looked for that auto italia. I must have just missed it. This month's magazine seems kinda dull..
So Louis graciously sent me the links he found featuring a few pictures of the SZ underside.

- You can see where Alfa just left the 75 style spring perches on the underside of the chassis!

Hi Grant, sorry about the late reply mate.
I will bring the mag into work and scan the article for you.It was the 100th issue of Auto Italia by the way.Now you cannot get the mag in South Africa anymore.
Marc, that Mostro of your's is an absolute beaut.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Pardon my ignorance, but are the front coil-overs standard?
Did they retain the torsion bars?
How about the coil-over rear koni shocks?
Do the SZ/RZ use a 'drop spindle' version of the standard spindle?
IF so, how much lower are the lower balljoints?
I love under car shots. Thanks to Baz and Grant![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Standard dropped spindles (I don't know how much)
Standard in-car adjustable ride-height koni coilovers (using a pump and hydrualic system to clear speed bumps)
Standard cambered dedion with heim joints on the watt's linkage and a spherical ball at the front of the dedion.
Pretty baller! Only thing the same is the front brakes. This car does not use torsion bars. It is said that the composite body panels make the structure strong enough to use coilover fronts. Spring rates are around280 lbs/inch front and 280 lbs/inch rear IIRC, but rears don't translate directly because the coilvoers are moutned out further than our springs on the GTV6/Milanos are.
OK, very hard to add a picture. It's too large to add.
Go to my picture account, and you can see ES30 shop manual diagrams of the front and rear suspension. Should answer your questions.

Cheers Grant, top stuff
Are those spring rates pound/inch, kilograms/millimetre or kilograms/centimeter?
It looks like there are mounting points for outboard calipers on the rear axle
No rear AR bar for the SZ/RZ? A result of being shorter?
The rear axle looks more sturdy than standard, obviously to handle the coil over spring arangement, but how about the shock mountings in the chassis?
Thinking about how to apply similar methods to my road going 75..........![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I just noticed the lower control arms appear to move the lower balljoint forward (to achieve extra carster angle), almost like they are reversed, moved left to right vice-versa. Does anyone have wheel alignment specs for the SZ/RZ?
