Will I fit in a GTV6?

Post by Turin »

Hello, hopefull newbie here. I found a 1982 GTV6 that needs some TLC and I really want the car. Problem is it's not nearby, and I don't know if I will fit inside. I'm 6'4, longer torso. Can I squeeze myself in ? I don't have to be comfortable mind you. Years ago I tried a pantera but it wasn't going to happen... no way. A liitle about me... I've only owned 60's muscle cars and want a change. Moto Guzzis' are my first love (have 3 right now and have been riding guzzis' for 17 years (half of my life). I have the Italian auto bug bad. Also, my friend Andy is the local Alfa/ferrari guru, so I have mechanacal advise if I get stuck on this project.

Sit in a hard upright chair with back to wall. Measure from chair where you ass sits to top of your head as located on wall.

For me this was 37 inches (~94cm)

When I sit in car, i have about 2-2.5 (5-7cm) inches before my head touches lowest part of liner (this is where roof starts to curve down on the side) ALSO I have a sunroof and drivers seat is not new. A no sunroof Alfa may have a little more room.

Plenty of leg room, BUT I have to wear thin shoes like sneakers or driving shoes(..because the pedals are very close)

I'm 6'2" and 2 " longer than normal in the torso (have to get custom leathers for the Aprilia....cant buy off the rack). I fit fine with some extra headroom in my GTV6. I have older seats and a sunroof. I doubt I could fit with a helmet without some fussing about.

I'm 192cm and can fit easily.
With a helmet it's harder but I can still do it.

I'm 6' 2" with long legs and arms and I fit fine even with a helmet and the seat back in its upright position. In fact the GTV 6 is one of the only performance cars in which I fit, that's part of the reason I got one.

BTW 6'2" = 188 cm

I am also 6' 2", my son is 6'4". We both fit just fine, although it's a little tight with a helmet.

Well, due to the nature of my career I am rarely home on December 25th. Christmas at my house will be on the 27th this year. I am currently stuck in Wilmington Ohio and believe me, there is nothing to do here except surf the net.

Both of my sons are 6'6". That may be the max. as one can get comfortable and one can't, and they both have buzz cuts.
Mats, your post made me laugh out loud...plus you're a Bilstein guy!
