Finally someone has done it to a Nord, I have thought about it quite often but never had a reason.
But I thought it was to stop them from "walking"/moving?

Its flat on the bottom where it seats on the sleeve,top has 1,2or sometimes 3 ridges that bite into the cyl head.Its bulletproof sealing..Little Loctite gray silicon to seal off the water and away you go..
