SZ Chassis Question - Mainly directed to SZ owners!

Post by gtv11636 »

This Question goes for SZ owners out there!

What are the diffrences in the construction and chassis of the SZ compare to the MILANO 75 wich is based on ?

Any sterngthenings you can see by eyes? added metal, thicker beams, added beams, diffrent weldings or any other diffrences in the'r chassis ?

I know it has composite body meterials but the main question i'm intrested in is How the hell does it chassis handles the added forces of the coilovers setup ?

The SZ benefits from the suspension development done by Alfa Corse on the IMSA 75 race cars. It has rose-jointed suspension, coilovers at the front and back and wider tyres.

It also has a shorter wheelbase, the outer panels are made from a plastic material and the roof from aluminium but it's heavier than a 75 (Milano).

It doesn't understeer on turn-in like a stock 75 (probably due to a stiffer front end) and the ride is a bit harsher, but it sticks like glue.

It's a good question though! Surely good enough so some minor crossposting can be overlooked :)

Eh? Am I missing something here?

Hmm, I'm missing a 400v extension cord for the MIG and a working starter for the 75.
Otherwise I'm fine, I think..?

Mats  Thats ok, I'm taking it as a good sense of Humor

And back to the original subject! Isnt there anyone who own both cars and can tell from closer look what strengthnings and modifications where made to the chassis(not the suspension and bolt on stuff) ?
I'm guessing Here but i think this question intrest a lot of GTV6\Milano owners. 8)

i own an rz and i think there are no substantial differences in chassis , only in the suspensionpart.the car sticks to the road ,but a lot of road noises and squicks are passed through to the driver!
ed van de beek knows all about the subject,i'll give his site adress http://home.wxs.nl/~evdbeek/monster.html
this man should know it all
