Are you starting your own hardware-store?

Nice stuff! Oil and fuelline couplings i presume?

The black ones are so much nicer than the blue ones which belong in a Subaru/Honda...

Yep, fuel and oil.
Agree about the color, I might end up painting the blue ones that are visible actually.
Too bad the adaptor fittings between dash-lines and regular metric and the silly imperial threads are so rare, when found you just have to accept the color. I understand the logic in aerospace applications, male/female color coding, but it looks terrible on a car. Add some pink wiggins clamps and you're done. 8)

Mats, do you ever get concerned about an electric waterpump. Its probably because I lost faith in electrics when I bought my first Alfa. If your fuel pump , computer, etc goes you dont lose an engine. If your fans sieze you can still see your temp rising and shutdown howver if your waterpump goes it will be over pretty quickly.
My friend has one on his 3.7 gtv and keeps it running after the race with fans going to cool engine down. Just asking !

No concerns, They are aiming at OEMs and that says it all in my book, very serious stuff. The Prodrive 550 Maranello had two of these actually.
BMW have electric water pumps on some cars and I hear rumours about electric oil pumps... :o

Then again I'm rewiring the whole car, no original Alfa stuff at all in that harness, basically I'm using the stalks at the wheel and the front/rear lights from the original install, everything else is redone. Everything. So I will have no-one to blame when it goes...

Engine pre lubrication? You mean like a "turbo saver" and whatever they call it?
Why? Heavy and more possible failure points... 8)

Engines live for over 30 years without one and I bet this engine has nicer cold starts then most, always 15*C or more, always fresh oil and always carefully warmed up before going hard. So I don't feel a need for another pre-start lubrication kit to be honest.
I'll stick to my KISS approach. Keep It Simple Stupid. :)

Accusumps are commonly used on serious race cars here. There really isn't much that can break. It is simply a reservoir of pressurized engine oil (valve closed before shutting engine down). Typically, it is released via a manual valve from the driver's position before starting the engine: One reservoir, one oil line to oiling system, one manual valve...

Ok, but why use it?
Useless weight in my book... 8)

Minimizing wear always seems sensible - for a tractor engine who cares but a finely built high precision race engine...

Hey, post some build-pics 8)

In my mind there is a thing called "overkill". Minimizing wear, sure, but what does that mean in the real world? Normally you might need to rebuild the engine one every 15-20 years or 300000Km or so, a race engine more often maybe but due to cold start wear? Probably not.
So instead of throwing away slightly worn main/big end bearings when rebuilding you would throw away bearings that are even less worn.
So more potential problems and more weight for just about zero gain? Will the wear lessen the engine performance? Probably not. Will it make the car heavier? Yes! Will it cost any money? Yes! Will it take time to fit? Yes!

Now here is something that will actually give me something in return even though it adds weight... 8)

And btw Jes, no I won't post build pics. You're not the boss of me!

Mats,
Each to his own. I was merely thinking, and suggesting, maybe I shouldn't have, that it could be of general interest with build pictures. Best of luck to your build,
