I'm not snowed in, 12h in the garage today.... :)

Still feel bad about the videos though, I'm having some technical difficulties right now that I need to sort. I have not forgotten!

What we see on the pictures above is the result of my specs on a turbo piston for my 2.0 Nord engine that's going into the GTV. Lower compression and deeper valve pockets. The piston on the right on the last two pictures is what I got the first time around when they didn't make the modifications I asked for. Quite a difference indeed.

So, liners are modified as we speak, small end of rods are adjusted and the crank, flywheel and pulley are individually balanced and as an assembly. Crank is modified with grub screws in the oil holes. No lightening of the crank.

Hopefully I will be able to share pictures of the actual build pretty soon, maybe that will be more fun then "just parts" on a table. :)

What compression/bore are the *wrong* pistons?

9.0:1 84mm. 8.5:1 with a TS length rod. Very good for an alcohol (E85) turbo engine. Not for me though, need my gas/petrol. (And the bore issue) :)

Nice!
I was hoping the pistons might be something useful for a hot n/a motor... doesn't sound like it though :(

Nope, just add turbo. :)

Had a "virtual handshake" on a sale in December but now I see he's out looking for exactly the same thing but for a 1.8. Strange behaviour. :?

Picked up the block (w/o liners) last week and I started to clean it yesterday. So I started the actual build yesterday I guess. Pre studies has been going on for a while though. I expect more parts back this week so hopefully the build will accelerate soon. :)
Don't worry, there will be pics.

I'm also revamping my website so the update frequency will be better then once-a-year.
I will be able to report results from the pits for instance, the future is here.

Yeah, too long. I hope it all will turn out fine. Right now it's really just a big PITA, no time to do anything else and about half the stuff I do is a step back. Got a call from the engine-works-monkey about an hour ago telling me he managed to fuck up another liner which means I'm not getting all the stuff back tomorrow as he told me this morning.

I just hope I have a set of liners in a junk engine in the garage otherwise I'm fcuked.

Nice...it's amazing how alfa projects take so long to see the light....my Giulie project has been going on for 5 years now...thankfully it's nearing completion but had quite a bit of setbacks along the way... :?
