Hi Pete,

The Spindles are machined with a reverse taper and usually fitted with a tapered sleeve to be sure the fit is tight. This require carefull machining as too little and the BJ wont go deep enough in. Too much and it will not be tight. So be sure you have a carefull chat with your machinist about EXACTLY what you are trying to do. It would pay to have some spare spindles on hand just in case.

Very well. When I am finished tidying up under there, I will take some photos of the instal for you. Meantime, I am using a 196hp rated BMW front donut only with modifications to make it work.

Md does not matter where all the parts come from. It's the what you get from the total package which is engineered and designed through a unique racing heritage. Only the Italians(Romans) could create that.

Well, you've definitely bastardized it .

But seriously, unless the car is built entirely from Alfa Romeo developed parts (which is so unbelievably unlikely, even for a 'factory team', we'll never mention such a ridiculous idea again), you can't 'technically' call it an Alfa Romeo. But given that factory standard cars have been using parts and suppliers from multiple manufacturers and countries for years, who cares?

IMHO if the engine and shell are Alfa - then it is still an Alfa. If either of these are changed (not just modified, but totally changed) then it is something else. All the other stuff is just ancilliary.

Well that's a relief. Seems like a general consesus somewhere under all that still beats the heart of Alfa Romeo.

Here we are getting ready to go to the dyno shop again to finalise the tuning.Hope the Cab stays in one piece.

Md , that's alfa art deco at it's finest. You actually have to look it the car for a while to get it. Rather bold . Any budding architects in your house.

Haha, thanks Kevin. Yes I had the trailer built so it can be tied down with a cross configuration front and rear. I have also installed tied down points on th car itself to facilitate that. The orange tie down straps ad the final picture!

As far as the graphics go, well, I figured if we can't get attention from being at the front, we may as well get some for presentation so the appearance is to get some fun value. Being a 1978 model, the Cab is an old girl but somehow the graphics make it relevant to today so I am happy with that. The graphics certaily look "busy" and I think that lends itself to position the car visually as ready to do the business (if you know what I mean). I had a lot of fun doing it. Given enough development and improved driving skills, it could be at the pointy end one day but for now , reliability with all my changes is the first priority.

After secondary education, architecure was my first university choice but I got side tracked. Nevertheless, if and when I build a new home for myself I still design, build, and do the fit outs so your presumptions show great insight.
