I was thinking more on the lines of just measuring hur far down from the splitline between the sump and block the Min mark is and be happy with that.
Well... umm... yes, I supose that method would work well too
I was trying to think of a way to do it without having to remove the sump - but that's obviously not a big issue for you at this stage of your build.
Did you have your exhaust flange laser cut and then mill the port angles, or was the whole job done on a mill?
There will be a support, probably from the engine mount to the wastegate bolts or something, haven't really figured it out yet.
Even if I can make the hose there would be no way to fit it, AN fittings are insanely sensitive to any misalignment during assembly and imagine trying to get the second one to catch the threads correctly with the hose even more bent then when in it's final position.
I'm going to have to remove the sump, the oil pump is still in a box on the shelf.
The flange is actually cut on a water jet with some tricky fixtures. A milling machine would have been the obvious choise but no-one seems to want to do it at a price that is reasonable.

Today I might actually make some progress with the engine harness. Or something else that needs to be done before I can start it up. Still thinking about the exhaust routing for instance.
Need o fit a catalytic converter in there somewhere. Yes, you heard me... Racing rules.

Getting there ! On the manifold exhaust flange which which bolts to head , are the holes for the studs bigger in centre ie pots 2 and 3 ie 9.5mm compared to outer pots 1 and 4 at 8 mm .
I used to have to do this on my GTV nord turbo or cut slots in the flange between the pots as the heat and expansion used to break studs . But then this was a daily driver not a racer which clocked very high mileage .

Mats , it does make more sense outer been bigger as movement should be more ( knock on effect) but the heat is more contained in centre that's where you're greatest expansion is .
Sounds nice... but if you heat a long piece of metal it tends to expand from the middle to the ends. So at the ends the holes will be pushed out more compared with the holes in the middle.

My point exactly, but I'm guessing he is talking about a flange that has four separate flanges at h exhaut ports?
Anyway, spent the afternoon studying a NACA paper from -56 regarding mufflers. Very interesting.
