Hugely impressive speed!
216hp is 1 thing from a normally aspirated Alfa 2 litre and I'm sure it's safe to say that most of the Alfaholics catalog has been thrown at the car's suspension! And it's probably rolling on semi-slicks/cup tyres, but the guy can drive and does an awesome job of menacing that 911 GT3 RS!

I actually saw the movie this weekend also and the porsche driver doesn't know the track very well. But then again this is a serious fast alfa, which is driven on/near the limit.

Meaningless comparisons, with unknown driver skills/track knowledge... Come on, I don't care how good the Alfa is, a GT3 is untouchable in there, plus, it has another 40 years of evolution behind it... Still think taking corners on three wheels is the way to go? Not for the last four decades!
I'd like to see a 'Ring test of a '71 Ford Escort BDA vs a GTAm with capable works drivers... THAT would be a true revival of the old feud!

Ok some good news for the old cars in comparing to modern cars . Our fastest historic replica GTA in class specs clocked and equivalent lap time ( 1min11) to the fastest production championship car in 2005 at Zwartkops . The production cars consisted of works 156gta , BMW 330 , Nissan 350z . The production car category was limited to the compression the cars came out with ie gta 156 was 10.3 :1 and capacity and everything else was pretty much free . The BMW teams were full factory backed and drivers were top professionals.
From 2005 on wards production championship cars have got just over 0.7 of a second quicker every year up until 2013 and they sitting at 1min 05 now with 450 hp 335i BMWs ruling the track .
In perspective a standard road going2012 335i on semis equals the same time as the 2005 cars .
But before I bore you with all these numbers our so called Historic GTA replicas are 10 seconds faster than than they were in the 1980s' .

But any way you look at it, you cant deny that the GTV was very well driven and the car itself very capable. Sure it isn't by any means on par with the GT3, but I dont think the driver or we ever expected it to be. Just good fun watching the video.

Yes the GT3 RS is a DAMN impressive car and I would love to own 1, but the speed that the Alfa displayed can't be ignored.

After all of your claims of "unknown 'this' and unknown 'that'" you're making a BIG assumption that the Alfa is going around corners on 3 wheels????
Maybe have a look at what Alfaholic supply for the 105 series and realise that they do a little bit more than just shove heaps of spring and anti-roll bar rate into an old chassis, to help get it to go around corners...............

If you drive 105's you deserve Alcoholics! There are lot better things to do than see a 105 take corners. For the amount of money it takes to build a perfect and powerful 105, I'd take a Scoobie, Evo or any other modern machine!

It actually just takes an understanding of the suspension to really get these 105 to handle . ( Which i dont ) . However The 105 car above in SA that is so damn fast has its suspension set up to perfection by the owner / driver and also the suspension designer of this years 2nd place Dakar Toyota driven by Giniel .
Just great to see the top brains working these 105 series .
Pic of the Toyota below with Colin's logo incase their is doubt. S logo . Every one in SA begs him for one of his suspension kits but he won't give that out at any cost ( except for his team mate) . He uses a much softer set approach than most other kits but he has motion ratio etc so well worked out .
